Hey sister, are you ready to set your God-centered health goals this year?
One of the first steps to a healthy lifestyle is having a goal that will help you throughout your journey.
Why should you set God-centered goals?
Setting goals can be easy but setting God-centered health goals ensures that the goals will take you beyond health and into your purpose. God wants to help us in anything we are facing. Today in this episode, I will be talking about how to set God-centered goals that help you in your journey.
You need to be careful not to just set goals and ask God to bless them. Instead, sit with Him and ask Him the trajectory of your life and set goals with His guidance.
The goals you have for yourself can drive your success so it’s important to set goals that are meaningful and holy because these things will be your motivation to continue when life gets hard.
If you’re starting to plan out your health goals then tune in and follow the simple steps to God-centered goals.
What are God-centered goals?
I believe I exist to glorify God. I have a part to play in this lifetime to help God complete His plan until I am united with Him again in heaven.
I exist to glorify God and I exist to show love to people and help others, and just exude Jesus to people. I don’t always get it right, but right, that’s why I’m created and if I just sit in that and let God use me, then the goals and the path for the day, the week, and the month become clearer, and honestly a lot more manageable.
Goals are plans for the future and something to work toward. Goals give you a clear path and hold you accountable, and they help you set your priorities.
If you need help making health a priority check out Episode 3 and my step-by-step process to making health a priority.
If you’re thinking to yourself, “It’s time to put movement toward becoming who I know God’s calling me to be,” then just take that time and set those goals, there’s no real right or wrong.
To achieve God-centered goals you have to get specific. You can no longer just envision your goal and take unmeasurable action toward a questionable outcome.
Goals create action in our lives, focus, and disciplinary action. Planning is biblical. Proverbs 21:5 says “the plans of the diligent lead to profit, as surely the haste leads to poverty.”
How my life has changed with God-centered goals.
If I believe what the Bible says, and I do, I look for profit to come in any form. God’s ways are not my ways and I surrender control of how it has to look and welcome any “profit” or blessing from His hand.
God loves to give his children good gifts.
It has changed my life to plan my goals with God. It has changed the trajectory of my life. It has changed my motivation. It has changed my commitment by just knowing that God’s hands are on this path for my life.
And really, He always had this path for my life. He has a path for your life. Everything changed when I finally dialed in and stopped fighting it and said, “yes, Lord, this is what you want and this is how I surrender and I follow.”
It has been everything. Surrender and God-center goals make me come alive. They make me confident in who I am. God-centered goals make me a better mom, a better friend, a better leader, and a better wife.
Take time to listen
Try it. Ask God. God talks to us when we are ready to receive. Be encouraged, He talks to me the way I need to hear Him, He talks to my husband, the way my husband needs to Him, and He talks to my friends the way my friends need to hear Him.
He’s not just this booming voice, right? Because that’s the movie god.
He is able to just give you exactly what you need. Sit and ask and if you’re stuck, start by asking, “what do you want me to do today God?”
He will equip you, as He calls you.
And that’s exactly how it worked for me. I am only doing the things I’m doing today because He has equipped me every step of the way.
Every story that you read in the Bible shows His equipping. From Abraham to David, to the disciples, none of these people were at the top of the top. God equips those who have a willing heart.
This is why I’m so passionate about the alignment of body, soul, and spirit. God equips me every day to help women get healthy, so they can follow their God-given destiny. I stay on the path God has called me to by setting God-centered goals.
Here is a quick list of how to set God-centered goals:
- Pay attention to desires that keep coming up
- Ask God for direction: God-centered goals honor God, it’s not a goal until it has action behind it.
- Start with asking, “what do you want me to do this day, this week, this month”
- if you seek His plans for your life you will profit, Proverbs 21:5
We serve a mighty mighty God, but we also have really true enemies. So, to be strong in the three areas: body, soul and spirit, was a must for me to continue to walk out my calling, and to walk out my path as He created.
When I continue to form God-centered goals, I create a firm foundation and He continues to equip me. If there is a hiccup or if there is a back step, I don’t just give up and throw in the towel. That’s because he’s equipped me to continue along this path. And I feel his presence, and He walks with me, and He holds my hands.
I stay on the path God has called me to by setting God-centered goals.
